Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 officially coming on October 25th

by on18 October 2018

With 5G support and 10GB of RAM

Xioami has now released an official teaser that shows that the Mi Mix 3 will be coming on October 25th, with all the bells and whistles, including the sliding camera mechanism, 5G support, 10GB of RAM, dedicated Xiao AI button, and an all new face unlock feature.

Although previous rumors suggested it could launch on October 15th, Xiaomi went ahead and confirmed that the phone is coming on October 25th. The announcement was spotted on Weibo and it pretty much confirms that it will have a sliding camera mechanism, leaving the phone with a 100 percent screen-to-body ratio, or at least close to it.

Earlier rumors also suggested it will have a dedicated AI button that will launch the Xiao AI service.

Xiaomi also confirms that the Mi Mix 3 will be one of the first phones on the market to support 5G as well as come with 10GB of RAM.

This confirmation comes from Xiaomi Spain and Xiaomi probably went for a dedicated Qualcomm modem to support 5G (like the Snapdragon X50). There is also a possibility that there will be a special version of the Xiaomi with 5G support which will come with some future Snapdragon SoC, but we guess we will have to wait for the October 25th to get a better idea.

While 10GB of RAM might sound exotic, bear in mind that Xiaomi's Mi Mix lineup was always about being technologically advanced from the competition, and although it came with a high price, Mi Mix smartphones certainly pushed the envelope. The Mi Mix 3 should be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 SoC.

Hopefully, all of these high end features won't have a big impact on the price and it will land way below other competing flagship smartphones on the market.
