Cristiano Amon and Carl Pei confirm it

Nothing has confirmed at the Mobile World Congress 2023 that the Nothing Phone 2 will be powered by a Snapdragon 8-series SoC when it launches later this year.

While Nothing Phone 1 certainly raised a lot of interest when it launched last year, it had is drawbacks, especially with the Snapdragon 7-series SoC, making it more of a mid-ranger in terms of performance.

At the MWC 2023 in Barcelona, Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm, and Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, announced that the Nothing Phone 2 will be getting the Snapdragon 8-series SoC when it launches later this year.

Unfortunately, Nothing is keeping the details well hidden, but we assume the successor will go for Qualcomm's flagship offer, whichever will be available at that time since the Nothing Phone 2 is expected in the third quarter, or between July and September.

Earlier rumors pointed to high-end hardware, a 120Hz OLED screen, and a large battery, but it is left to be seen if Nothing will keep the transparent back design with Glyph LEDs.
