Nothing Ear (2) officially announced

by on23 March 2023

Gets improved ANC, LHDC support, and personalized sound profiles

Nothing has officially announced its new Ear (2) wireless earphones, which are a direct successor (obviously) of the Nothing Ear (1), launched back in June 2021.

Nothing has kept the same design, but there are plenty of hardware changes to warrant the new version. The big update is the support for the LHDC 5.0 audio codec, allowing Hi-Res audio streaming. It also brings the new adaptive active noise cancelation (ANC), depending on the surroundings. Another update is new personalized sound profiles, allowing you to calibrate the buds to your liking.

Other updates include the new 11.6mm drivers with a whole new graphene and polyurethane diaphragm, as well as a new and improved microphone, with better wind-proofing. The Nothing Ear (2) now also supports dual pairing and connect via Bluetooth 5.2.

According to Nothing, the new Nothing Ear (2) wireless earphones have a battery life of 36 hours and can be charged via USB-C cable or wirelessly. The case is IP55-rated and the earphones are IP54-rated.

The Nothing Ear (2) earphones are available for pre-order, with the price set at $149/€149/£129.
