Faster than the SoC in phones

Qualcomm and Microsoft helped its partners to release the first generation of the Snapdragon 835 on Windows 10 and it is almost time for the second generation.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is the first phone outside Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9+ to use the Snapdragon 845 chip and in a Fudzilla test it did really well. Some people will want to get the the Mi6 successor, which might be imaginatively titled the Mi 7 and there is an indication that this might happen on May 23.

SD 845 meets great cameras

Not that long ago, China-based phonemanufacturers were considered being copycats of the well-established phone companies, mainly from California. A lot of things have changed over the last few years. 

SD 845, in-display fingerprint, notch

Xiaomi's Mi7 is a Snapdragon 845 phone that will sell in millions. The latest leaked pictures have confirmed the notched display, in display fingerprint reader and the rear dual camera setup.

The gaming phone

Xiaomi has another rather interesting phone in the pipeline. This time it is a gaming phone, something to succeed Razer. The phone - codenamed Blackshark - comes with the Snapdragon 845 and 8GB of RAM. The codename could actually even be the product name as apparently Xiaomi owns a company with the same name.

8 GB and 256 GB storage

More details about the highly anticipated OnePlus 6 have been revealed. The Snapdragon 845, 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage version has been confirmed.

Phone PCB can be used for notebook too

One important change is coming in the second part of 2018. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 on Windows 10 design will be much easier as the company designed it so that the phone PCB design literary fits in a notebook. Manufacturers will be able to use the Phone PCB and with much less effort create a Snapdragon 845 for a Windows 10 notebook or tablet.

Support for next-gen VR experiences with Snapdragon 845

Qualcomm has announced its new virtual reality development kit at the Games Developer Conference 2018 which includes a wireless VR head mounted display (HMD) and a new software development kit (SDK) for the Snapdragon 845 Mobile VR platform.

Xiaomi Dipper codename

It is all set and Xiaomi is launching its first Snapdragon 845 based Mi MIX 2S phone in Shanghai on March 27, the same date when Huawei is presenting its P20 phones. The next in line from Xiaomi is the Mi7.

Q2 2018 with Snapdragon 845

It was confirmed a while ago by OnePlus' CEO that the successor to the OnePlus 5T will come in Q2 2018 powered by Snapdragon 845. The first leaked images suggest that the phone might come with an iPhone like notch.
