Intel roadmap:
Quad core at 45 nm

Intel indicates that it can have up to 12 MB of cache on its Wolfdale CPUs. This Intel quad core CPU is based on a 45 nanometre process.

It can support FSB of 1,066 or 1,333MHz depending on the version and we recon that each core can have up to 3 MB of cache memory. That is a lot of memory and Intel still doesn’t want to give away the clocks.

Penryn is closer than you think, Intel already has samples and they even showcased it at Computex.
