Quad core 45W and some 65W

AMD plans to launch four energy efficient CPUs and all of them will be Athlon branded. The top performer based on Propus native quad-core without L3 cache at 2.5GHz and 2MB of L2 cache branded as AthlonX4 605e will fit the 65W TDP envelope. This CPU should be launched at late Q1, early Q2 2009.

The runner up based at the same Propus 45nm core Athlon X5 6xxe that will work between 2.1 and 2.4GHz will be AMD's first quad with a 45W TDP. The frequency will be decided later and this CPU should launch in mid Q2 2009.

AMD has two three-cores based on the Rana core that doesn’t feature L3 cache. Athlon X3 405e will also work at 2.5GHz and even one core is totally disabled from its native-quad core father, it will feature the same 65W TDP. This CPU should be ready to launch in first days of Q2 2009.

The runner up Athlon X3 4xxe will also work between 2.1GHz and 2.4GHz, comes with 1.5MB L2 cache but it fits the 45W TDP envelope. This CPU should launch in the middle of Q2 2009.
