Quad and Dual

Apart from the plan to launch Nehalem EX server based Xeons in very late Q1, Intel still have at least two low voltage Xeons up on its sleeve.

The first one is Xeon L3360, a low voltage quad core L3360 with an impressive 2.83GHz core clock, 12MB cache and socket LGA 775 compatibility. Naturally this is the Yorkfield generation of 45nm quad core CPUs.

The second one is a low voltage dual-core, the Xeon L3110 that will launch at 3.0GHz with 6MB and the same socket LGA775. They will both launch in Q1 2009 but we don’t know any more specifics or in fact how low voltage are they. Both are server CPUs and some will be offered as an upgrade for existing servers by big server guys.
