Sandy Bridge to get 2X times faster graphics

Lacks a reference system to compare

Intel has informed some of its top account clients that its next generation CPU with integrated graphics will get much faster graphics. Intel quotes a twofold performance increase with the Sandy Bridge generation and probably it compares it with its existing architecture.

It will be nice if Intel makes its integrated graphics 2X faster than the current Intel HD graphics inside Arrandale and Clarkdale, as these 32nm CPUs with stitched 45nm graphics  core can play Call of Duty WoW at 1024x764 at an acceptable frame rate.

Remember, with Sandy Bridge integrated graphics move onto the same die as the CPU and this will be Intel’s first 32nm graphics and probably world’s first 32nm graphics core. ATI and Nvidia plan to go to 28nm.

When it comes to multimedia Intel simply tells you to expect advanced media and graphics capabilities, and of course it should be at least slightly better than the current 45nm stitched IGP in Arrandale and Clarkdale.
