AMD FX-8150 overclocked to 8030.15MHz
On Gigabyte 990FXA-UD7 motherboard
Just a day ahead of the official relase and a flood of reviews that will show the Bulldozer performance in details, Gigabyte has decided to post a little preview of what AMD's FX-8150 is capable of by overclocking it to 8030.15MHz.
The overclocking was done on Gigabyte's 990FXA-UD7 motherboard and the FX-8150 was cooled to -192°C thanks to some LN2. The confirmed and validated result was set at 8030.15MHz. Of course, bear in mind that this was only two cores out of eight cores, and as you remember, AMD did a similar overclocking session with a 8429MHz score.
In Gigabyte's case, the FX-8150 was paired up 2GB of A-Data DDR3 memory clocked at 973.4MHz with 2-16-2-22 latencies and the CPU was running at 2V core voltage with a 292MHz bus speed and x27.5 multiplier.
In any case, it is still a nice overclocking result and tomorrow we will finally have a chance to see the FX-Series CPUs in some extensive and detailed reviews. Unfortunately, in some early previews, the FX-8150 was lagging behind Intel's 2600K but we'll know for sure tomorrow.
