In an interview with Korean daily Hankook Ilbo, Nvidia exec Phil Eisler said the company has approved TSMC’s 20nm capacity. Eisler noted that Nvidia evaluated all other foundry options and came to the conclusion that TSMC is still the best choice.

Interestingly, Samsung is said to be in the running for Nvidia’s 20nm contracts as well. Although Samsung generates a lot of buzz with its Exynos SoCs and Apple’s A-series chips, it share in the foundry market is very low. Furthermore, it has been rumoured for months that Apple could move its business to TSMC.
