MSI and Kingston have both announced a new memory overclocking frequency record of DDR5-12916.

Hit by Kovan Yang, a well-known overclocker, the record of DDR5-12196, or 6097.6MHz, was achieved running on MSI MEG Z890 Unify-X motherboard with Intel Core Ultra 7 265K CPU and Kingston FURY Renegade 24GB CKD module. The module was running at 48-120-120-127-2 latency, and verified over at both HWBOT.org and CPU-Z.

Interestingly, the CPU was running at just 2P+0E configuration and as low as 400MHz. The system was probably cooled by LN2, as the CPU was running at 5°C.

There have been several records broken recently with the new CUDIMMs and Intel's Core Ultra Arrow Lake-S processor on the Z890 platform.
