AMD’s Richland-based APUs have been around for months, but so far they’ve lacked frugal, energy efficient parts. All desktop Richlands shipping right now are either 65W or 100W pats. However, the wait is almost over and AMD seems poised to introduce a couple of 45W T-series chips as early as next week.

The A10-6700T and A8-6500T are quad cores with 4MB of L2 cache. The 6700 is clocked at 2.5GHz and features HD 8650D graphics, with 384 stream processors clocked at 760/844MHz. It also appears to support Turbo Core, but there’s still no word on Turbo clocks.

The A8-6500T is a 2.1GHz part with HD 8550D graphics (256 stream processors, 720MHz clock). Once again there’s no word on Turblo Core clocks.

According to WCCFtech, the chips should launch next week with a price tag of about $150, although they’ll probably end up a bit cheaper. With powerful integrated graphics and a relatively low TDP, the new T-series Richlands seem like the perfect choice for HTPCs and other small form factor rigs.
