However, Intel went upmarket and landed a deal with Jaguar Land Rover. Intel chips will be used in upcoming Jaguar Land Rover infotainment systems and due to the nature of the marque we are guessing these systems will be quite powerful and pricey. The carmaker has already set up shop in Portland, so its tech R&D team won’t be far from Silicon Valley.
It is not the only carmaker to do so. Mercedes-Benz also has a centre in Silicon Valley and many other outfits are looking to forge lasting relationships with valley based tech companies.
