The successor of Tegra K1 is codenamed Erista. The Tegra K1 is based on Nvidia's old Kepler core and 32-bit or 64-bit CPU cores. The next generation Tegra, codenamed Erista, uses Maxwell GPU technology.

It looks like it is coming in 2015 and the only thing that Nvidia revealed about it is the codename. Erista is the son of the Wolverine, we need not say more. Quite frankly, we don't have much to say anyway, as Nvidia did not reveal anything more than that.

Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang didn’t say what sort of CPU core is behind it, whether it's an Nvidia ARMv8 design like Denver, or a plain ARM design in 32-bit or 64-bit flavour. Perhaps we'll see both, like in the Tegra K1?

Anyway, Nvidia likes to keep us guessing, but at least we have a name now.
