AMD Ryzen 7 1700X CPU gets benchmarked

Performance close to Core i7-5960X

As we draw closer to the official launch of AMD's Ryzen CPU lineup, it is no surprise that we get to see some benchmark leaks and while there have been some around, this is the first time we have seen a few benchmarks at the same place.

Coming from XFastest.com site, the leak shows AMD's Ryzen 7 1700X tested in 3DMark Fire Strike, Cinebench R15, and CPUmark. The CPU was running at 3.5GHz base and 3.9GHz Turbo clock which is slightly higher than earlier leaked 3.4GHz/3.8GHz clocks but that might have something to do with AMD's XFR technology. XFastest.com also pictured the new Ryzen CPU next to the FX-series CPU.

The first score comes from 3DMark, reaching 17,916 in the physics test, which is a pretty impressive score. In CPUmark, the same CPU gets 583 points, a score similar to Intel's Core i7-5960X CPU, which is also an 8-core/16-thread CPU.

In Cinebench R15, AMD Ryzen 7 1700X scores 1537 points, a score slightly higher than the Core i7-5960X (1408 points) and quite close to the Core i7-6900K, which scores around 1578 points.

These results are quite impressive, especially if you consider that the Ryzen 7 1700X is not the flagship CPU and should retail at around US $400, which is significantly lower than the Core i7-5960X, selling for around US $1000.

We are quite sure that we will see even more benchmarks as we draw closer to the launch date.
