Running on Asus Crosshair VII Hero motherboard

A new and upcoming Ryzen 2000 series CPU, the Ryzen 5 2600 was seen in SiSoft Sandra database, rocking a 3.4GHz base clock on those 12nm Zen+ cores, and running on yet to be announced Asus Crosshair VII Hero motherboards.

Although we can't draw a lot of conclusions from the SiSoft Sandra database listing, it does show some interesting details, including the fact that this 65W six-core CPU with twelve threads works at a 3.4GHz base clock, which is a good 200MHz faster than a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU. It packs 3MB (6x512kB) of L2 and 16MB (2x8MB) of L3 cache.

The Ryzen 5 2600 CPU ran on an Asus Crosshair VII Hero (Wi-Fi) motherboard likely to be based on AMD's upcoming X470 chipset.

Of course, this is obviously an engineering sample, so final clocks could possibly change, but 200MHz+ sounds like a decent improvement.

AMD has already announced its new Ryzen 2nd generation CPUs will bring some improvements in terms of higher frequency and the new Precision Boost 2 technology. These CPUs are scheduled to launch in April. AMD said the Ryzen 2nd generation CPUs will bring some improvements in terms of higher frequencies and its Precision Boost 2 technology.
