BOE’s Winning Display 1 Hz appears to be a specific product family that makes use of IIDT 2.0. These screens utilise LPTO architecture OLED panels and can refresh between 1 Hz and 120 Hz.
According to the pair, the innovation uses AI to dynamically adjust the refresh rate between 1 Hz and 120 Hz, depending on the content being displayed.
The new display will debut in Intel's upcoming Lunar Lake laptops and employ Intel's Intelligent Display Technology 2.0. This technology uses AI to optimise power usage by adjusting the screen's refresh rate and brightness based on user activity.
For instance, the refresh rate can drop to as low as 1 Hz when the screen displays static content, significantly conserving energy.
According to Tom's Hardware, this advancement enhances battery life and represents a significant step forward in sustainable technology.
