Agrees to allow apps to be hosted outside its official store

Fruity cargo cult Apple has finally bent to European pressure and will allow iPhone users to download apps hosted outside of its official App Store.

Enforcement might be impossible

EU lawmakers gave the thumbs up to landmark rules to rein in tech giants such as Alphabet unit Google, Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Microsoft, but enforcement could be hampered by regulators' limited resources.
