As if getting in bed with Yahoo isn’t enough, Facebook seems to be keen on adding more to its “group”. Word broke out that Facebook and Skype are about to announce a partnership.

The partnership will have Skype integrate Facebook Connect into the upcoming 5.0 version of Skype, currently in beta. It will allow users to SMS, call as well as videochat to Facebook friends without leaving the app.

It has been said that Facebook’s goal is bringing community and communications closer together and who better to join forces than with Skype. Skype counts 560 million registered users with as much as 124 million using it at least once a month, which says it all really.
