Fudzilla shuts down to protest SOPA, PIPA
One day ahead of planned blackout
Fudzilla was taken offline over the weekend to protest the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA). Sadly, we sort of messed up the date, so we pulled the plug a couple of days ahead of other sites. Also, we forgot to tell anyone about it.
Joking aside, we experienced a substantial spike in traffic during the post-CES period and it took us a bit longer than expected to resolve the issues. Long story short, now we have a shiny new server and Fudzilla is no longer powered by hamsters spaced out on meth. In accordance with our previous agreement with PETA, the hamsters were released into the wild and they were subsequently recruited by Mexican cartels as drug mules.
We apologize for any inconvenience the outage may have caused you and we hope to resume regular service as soon as possible. Granted, our definition of regular service is somewhat, well, different. Our regular service patterns are based on quantum physics which means that Fudzilla only works if you watch it.
Rumours alleging that we were attacked by Apple Liberation Front militants armed with anthrax laced lattes were false, and Nick Farrell was not beheaded with a MacBook Air on YouTube after all.
