Apple war is industry's defining fight


Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt has said that his company's war with Apple was the "defining fight" of the industry.

Schmidt expects more than a billion mobile devices around the world to be running its Android software within a year. This will intensifying the war with Apple which sould be the defining scrap of the technology industry. Schmidt said there were already four times as many Android mobile gadgets made by the likes of Samsung Electronics and that the scale of their battle was unprecedented.

He told  AllThingsDigital that the world had not seen competitive fights on this scale.  Well not since the Second World War at least, and then there was the First World War, you could also argue a case for the Napoleonic wars too, but they did not involve the US.
