Sweet cooperation with Nestle

Google's own senior vice president for Android, Chrome and Google Apps has shed some light on the upcoming new version of the Android OS, the Android 4.4 KitKat. While Android has surpassed 1 billion activations, according to Sundar Pinchai, the new version of Android comes as a cooperation with Nestle and some sort of promotional deal.

Although it did not shed any details regarding the actual features of the new Android 4.4 KitKat, Sundar Pinchai released some pictures of the Android logo made from KitKat chocolate and while it was referred to as Key Lime Pie internally, it was always meant to be called KitKat, at least since Mobile World Congress back in February when the deal was finalized.

To celebrate the deal, Nestle already released a rather interesting commercial that cunningly takes a punch at Apple. In addition to the obvious name, the deal will have some promotional purposes as well since Nestle will hold contests where you could win a KitKat shaped chocolate, Nexus 7 and probably more.

While it did not shed any details on the new Android 4.4 KitKat and its features, Sundar Pinchai did note that "It's our goal with Android KitKat to make an amazing Android experience available for everybody." A lot of rumors tie it with Google's push to optimize the Android OS for entry-level devices as well as bring the Android to a lot of other devices including smartwatches, TVs, notebooks and more.

Of course, we should not wait too long for an official announcement and we are certainly looking forward to it.
