Security outfit AVG has updated its entire range of PC products, launching AVG AntiVirus Free 2015, AVG AntiVirus 2015, AVG Internet Security 2015 and AVG PC TuneUp 2015. What is interesting in this batch of products is that the company is touting a new Outbreak Detection feature, which it claims can help to block zero-day malware exploits.

Although some companies have issued software which they claim can protect from Zero day threats, the fact that they are still out there means that they cannot be that effective. AVG has not made any claims of protection from zero day threats in its previous software so it must be fairly confident that this version of screening must do something a little different.

All three security products have a redesigned user interface which is supposed to be simple and minimalist using labelled buttons to make it easy for users to navigate the program’s features. Also updated is AVG Remover 2015, which adds support for removing the latest AVG builds. AVG has also updated AVG PC TuneUp to version 2015 to bring it in line with their other products.

AVG AntiVirus Free 2015 is available now as a free download for PCs running Windows XP or later. A paid-for version, offering download screening and file encryption, is also available as a trial download in the form of AVG AntiVirus 2015. Also available as trials are AVG Internet Security 2015 and AVG PC TuneUp 2015.
