That’s $120 million, thank you very much

The US court of appeals in Washington DC has re-instated a $120 million penalty against Samsung for patent infringement of Apple intellectual property.

According to Reuters, the judges said that a lesser court should not have reversed a decision to rule patents were not breached earlier this year.

The move is the latest twist in a long tale of both marketing and legal fights between Samsung and Apple.

Each is vying to become the dominant force in smartphones, with Samsung suffering something of a setback after it had to withdraw some Note 7s recently.

In other news, The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has kicked off an investigation into an incident on Wednesday when a Samsung phone started smoking.
