Sheffield United footballer, Jordan Robertson, has been arrested following a crash on the M1 motorway on Christmas Day.

Robertson was behind the wheel of his Mercedes sports car which plowed into a Ford Galaxy driven by Omar Mohamed, from Leicester. Mohamed was airlifted from the scene to a hospital in Coventry where he died the following day, having suffered a broken neck in the crash. He was a father of five, the former captain and then coach of the Somali national basketball team.

Apparently, Robertson was changing songs on his iPod when the crash occurred, and was taken into custody on suspicion of dangerous driving. Robertson doesn't appear to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash. This is just the latest in a series of serious accidents involving British footballers, and the public has long regarded football players as some of the worst and most dangerous drivers in Britain, if not the whole world.

There's a good reason why laws prohibit the use of phones and similar gadgets whilst driving, but even without such laws you should have enough sense not to toy around with your gadgets while behind the wheel.
