Thermalright is better known for CPU heatsinks and conventional thermal pastes but now it has come up with Helios for those who find putting on the thermal paste correctly a bit of a chore.

Rather than a tube of paste, Heilos is a 0.2mm-thick pad of thermal compound that is applied to the base of the heatsink.

Thermalright claims it has created a high-quality pad that's easy to use with any CPU/heatsink combination. It's selling two versions for use with AMD and Intel CPUs due to size differences between the two platforms.

The Heilos pads are rated at 8.5W/mK for thermal conductivity and 0.04°C cm2/W for thermal resistance.

It has limits. The pads are only really good for those who do not intend to do much overclocking. But, if you are the sort of novice the pads are designed for, you should not be playing around with heavy duty overclocking anyway.
