The chips are a "key component of Nvidia’s next-generation Blackwell family computing platform” and Foxconn claims it will be the largest GB200 production facility on the planet.

Foxconn's senior vice president for the cloud enterprise solutions business group. Benjamin Ting said that the Partnership between Nvidia and Foxconn was important because of widespread demand for Nvidia's Blackwell platform.

In August, Nvidia announced that it had commenced shipping Blackwell samples to its partners and customers after refining its design, and anticipated several billion dollars in revenue from these chips in the fourth quarter.

Foxconn Chairman Young Liu confirmed that the plant was under construction in Mexico, with an expected capacity that he described as "very, very enormous". He did not provide further details.

Foxconn already maintains a significant manufacturing presence in Mexico and has invested more than $500 million in Chihuahua. Liu asserted that the company's supply chain is prepared for the AI revolution, highlighting its manufacturing capabilities, which include "advanced liquid cooling and heat dissipation technologies necessary to complement the GB200 server's infrastructure."
