You get what you pay for
The maker of some of the most expensive laptops in the business has a problem with screen freezes. For some reason, Apple's recently launched Macbook Pro notebooks are allegedly suffering from an problem in the GPU hardware.

Angry 15 and 17-inch Macbook Pro customers have flooded Apple's customer forums with complaints. Apparently they expected their very expensive notebooks to actually work when they ran GPU intensive applications, after all that is what they paid extra for. Something about “it just working” . Yeah right.

One owner said that his computer freezes every time he plays any Source game like Counter Strike Source and Team Fortress 2. Pressing the volume buttons makes the screen freeze as does quitting the game through the main menu. The problem has not been spotted in the 13-inch Macbook Pro model.

Of course Apple is denying that it Macbooks are anything but perfect, but word on the street said that there appears to be a problem with the GPU drivers. Why this was not fixed before the machines were released is anyone's guess. We would have thought that screen freezes on that scale would have been spotted during testing.
