An interesting rumour is coming out of Germany today. TabTech has spotted a new HP tablet in some AnTuTu bench listings. However, unlike the cheap Slate 7, the new tablet seems to be a high-end beast.
It’s called the HP SlateBook 10 X2 and it features a 10.1 inch display. Nvidia’s Tegra 4 is under the bonnet, and it’s clocked at 1.8GHz. The OS of choice is Android 4.2.2. It scored 27.259 in AnTuTu, which is pretty good indeed. Tegra 3 tablets usually score between 12,000 and 15,000.
Of course, take everything with a grain of salt, nothing is official yet. Hopefully it won't flop like HP's TouchPad a couple of years ago.
If proven true, the rumour would indicate that HP is starting to take the tablet space seriously. In addition, it is also good news for Nvidia, as Tegra 4 is already super late and Nvidia desperately needs more exposure and design wins.
