The reason is that they think that Xiaomi has copied Apple’s super, cool sexy design and to quote one magazine “the only difference is the company’s logo”.

In fact another magazine said that it was so similar to Apple’s notebook, that some wag might have just taken a snap of their notebook and photoshopped Xiaomi’s logo where the Apple one should go.

We are not so sure. Apple did not invent the aluminium body and really what we are looking at is a bog standard "thin metal box" notebook which could have been put out by anyone. No marks against Xiaomi for copying but minus a few for lack of general originality. Then again Apple lost points for copying Microsoft’s tablet designs recently so it appears that the entire industry is suffering from an inability to come up with anything new.

According to TechWeb, the new laptop will run Windows 10 and comes in two different sizes, though the report only mentions a 12.5-inch model. It’s allegedly set to launch this sometime this summer, which could mean anytime from later this month to September.

We expect to see the real thing soon anyway.
