The outfit’s previous models only had Intel's sixth generation CPUs, while this flavour has a nice new Core i5-7200U processor, which is based on the Kaby Lake architecture.

It also has 16 GB of RAM but the rest of the specs more or less are the same. It also has a 13.3-inch 1080p display, and 1 TB HDD (5,400 rpm) + 128 GB SSD.

There is also an HDMI port, SD card reader, a camera and a microphone, three USB ports and a single USB Type-C.

Kaby Lake chips started appearing in August and Intel claimed it would be under the bonnect of more than 100 laptops, 2-in-1s, and tablets by the end of this year.

However it arrived at a time when PC shipments have fallen and the average replacement cycle for PCs has slowed to six years. Intel had been focusing on the growing segments of 2-in-1s, gaming PCs, and virtual reality.
Kaby Lake is faster and more power-efficient than its predecessor, called Skylake. It is also the first Intel PC chip with native 4K graphics support, and that feature is especially important to the company's fast-emerging virtual reality and mixed reality plans.
