MacPro users complain of three-hour battery life

It could be worse they could get four-hours

Apple’s managed to launch the new MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar with a lot of reasons not to buy it. Now it seems that it created a feature that few people would have expected – a three-hour battery life.

Battery problems appear to be a bother for Apple lately – normally they just have a problem with the networking. Last week we reported that there was a problem with an iOS update,  now Apple's own support community, along with sites such as Reddit, are ablaze with complaints that the battery is not delivering the promised 10 hours.

Generally if you buy a MacBook Pro you will be lucky if you get more than three hours battery life out of it. That is if you do anything taxing like browsing the web or sending email. Heavier use might drain the Pro even quicker.

One fanboy moaned: “I just received my new 15" MacBook Pro with touch bar. The battery life is horrible!!! I have Safari open with 6 tabs and with 95% battery, I am told that I have under 3 hours of battery life left! I thought these things were supposed to get 10 hours? I ran the battery down in three hours last night only browsing the web. I wasn't watching videos, just browsing. Is there something wrong with my laptop?”

You mean other than the fact it is already two years out of date and someone has swapped the function keys for some Christmas lights?

Apple fanboys are currently blaming the discrete Radeon graphics chip although that has not actually been confirmed yet.

Currently the work around is not to use the MacBook Pro or to keep it connected to a power supply (duh). If working cordless for longer than a few hours is important you might want to take your MacBook Pro back to the shop and swap it for a proper PC with a similar spec. You can probably get two for the price that you paid for the MacBook Pro. Apparently a lot of Apple fanboys are waking up and cancelling their orders
