Intel Kaby Lake CPUs and Nvidia GTX 1050 GPU

Dell has accidentally revealed its upcoming XPS 15 notebook update that will be getting a fresh hardware boost with Intel's Kaby Lake CPUs, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 GPU, fingerprint scanner, Windows Hello and Killer Wi-Fi networking.

Dell's XPS 15 line has been a favorite choice for high-end users recently, offering both impressive performance and good design. It appears that its latest XPS 15 9560 update won't disappoint either.

Spotted at Dell's official page by various sites, including Notebookcheck.net, the Dell XPS 15 9560 will be getting Intel's new Kaby Lake CPUs, including the Core i3-7100HQ, Core i5-7300HQ and the Core i7-7700HQ, which should give it a decent performance boost, as well as a shiny new Nvidia Pascal GPU, in the form of Geforce GTX 1050 with 4GB of memory.

Considering that the earlier XPS 15 notebook was shipping with the Nvidia GTX 960M as an option, this will be a decent update, offering performance similar to the GTX 970M but at a 60W TDP, which roughly translates to about 50 percent more performance and much better battery performance, at least compared to the previous XPS 15 generation.

The rest of the updates include a new 15-inch UHD 3840x2160 screen (with lower resolution displays available as an option), a new camera which is compatible with Windows Hello, a new fingerprint sensor, as well as the new Killer 1535 Wireless-AC adapter.

Unfortunately, Dell did not reveal any details and has even pulled the new XPS 15 9650 from its site but we could expect an official announcement at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2017.
