The EVGA Z170 Classified K (142-SS-E178-KR) is very similar to the company’s previous Z170 Classified (151-SS-E179-KR) 4-way SLI motherboard, with the exception that it is a smaller ATX design rather than an EATX design. The device runs cheaper than the standard Classified board at just $289 instead of $399 and features support for 2-way SLI + PhysX and up to 64GB of DDR4 3200+ MHz.

In terms of connectivity, the board sports both a Killer Gigabit E2400 NIC with Advanced Stream Detect 2.0 technology as well as an Intel i219 Gigabit NIC, two USB 3.1 10Gbps (Gen II) ports, six USB 3.0 ports, eight SATA III 6Gbps ports (two of which are SATA 3.2 Express 16Gbps with NVMe support), and three M.2 ports up to 32Gbps (1x Key M 110mm, 1x Key M 80mm and 1x Key E shared with PCI-E Port 5).
Thankfully, the M.2 ports on this board support both RAID0 and RAID1 configurations, which has been a frustration for early adopters of the Intel Z170 platform.
The EVGA Z170 Classified K (142-SS-E178-KR) is available today on EVGA’s website for $289.
