Despite the announcement from Sony that at least some PlayStation Network services would return this week, it now appears that this isn’t the case. Apparently, Sony has decided that the PSN needs to undergo more testing which we believe is from a security perspective prior to the service being turned back up.
While the company did publicly say that they had expectations of getting at least some of the services back online this week, it does not look to be very likely that this is going to happen. The company continues to say that they are doing everything possible to get the service back online, but that news comes as little consolation to the millions and millions of PSN users that are still unable to access the service.
Sources tell us that it will be at least another week before they might be in a position to re-launch at least some services on PSN.
