Dance Central developer Harmonix has confirmed that it will be possible to export Dance Central’s routines (or tracks, if you will) to the new Dance Central 2. However, if you want to do so it is going to cost you 400 Microsoft Points, or $5 to do so.
The “freestyle” sections from the first Dance Central are a part of the exported tracks, even if you elect to disable the freestyle section on Dance Central 2. The freestyle sections offered no choreography in Dance Central.
Dance Central 2 is on track to arrive October 21st in Europe and Asia and then on October 25th in North America. Some retailers will be bundling a Microsoft 400 Point card as part of their promotion of Dance Central 2 if you elect to pre-order.
