Codemasters has confirmed that (on the heels of their extension to the video game rights for Formula One) F1 2012 will arrive in September chock full of new features.
The 2012 version of F1 will introduce the “Young Driver Test Mode,” in which players will be able to get a real introduction to F1 with a number of tutorials to help players get a better handle on driving the cars within the game. Those who have never understood the science of F1 will gain additional insight on how to drive the cars and how the cars interact with setups and conditions.
The game will also contain a number of new features. The features range from things such as game play advancements to technical tweaks to make the game feel more real. The 2012 edition will feature all of the teams and drivers, but many will be excited to try the new U.S. Grand Prix circuit in Austin, Texas, as well the Hockenheim circuit in Germany, which makes a return to the schedule this season. The 2012 version will also feature the new tweaks to the FIA car rules, which includes the removal of the blown diffusers and new exhaust routing rules.
The game will arrive in September, but the exact date has yet to be announced. The game will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC platform. Codemasters expects to update us closer to September when they have a better idea of what the exact release date will be.
