Epic Mickey for 3DS is sequel of sorts
Part 2 of Genesis classic Castle of Illusion
Word is that the release of Epic Mickey 2 on the 3DS will actually be a sequel of sorts. According to none other than Nintendo Power Magazine, the 3DS version, which will be called Power of Illusion, will be a sequel to the Genesis title Castle of Illusion.
Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion is being developed by Dreamrift, the same studio that did the DS platformer, Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure. Sounds like a good match to us. It isn’t clear if it will use the same engine as Henry Hatsworth, but sources tell us that it will be an enhanced version of the same engine.
The game will offer a number of unique features, including letting players use the stylus to trace items into existence using Mickey’s magical paint brush. The game will also use parallax backgrounds and take advantage of the unit’s stereoscopic 3D abilities.
