Age of Empires was one of Microsoft’s first big hits and the game still has quite a following, hence Redmond’s decision to bring it to mobile platforms comes as no surprise.

According to Reuters, Age of Empires is coming to iOS and Android as a result of Microsoft’s collaboration with KLab Inc. Punters believe the launch might be part of a wider effort to bring Microsoft’s console titles to mobile, which sounds like a pretty good idea.

In addition to Android and iOS, Age of Empires should show up on Windows Phone as well. Still no word on RT though. Although we like Age of Empires, we like Civilization even more - and it's still not available on mobile.
