The first of the two promised major updates for NHL 15 has arrived as promised. The September update for NHL 15 is only for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game, but it adds a number of features.
The biggest part of the September update is the included new Playoff Mode which allows players to create a 16 team bracketed tournament. Three stars of the game is back, as well coaching feedback in the Be A Pro mode which will give you clues on what you can do better to defeat your opponent. Additional tweaks and improvements have been made to the Hockey Ultimate Team.
The next major content update is on tap for October and it will add 5 vs. 5 multiplayer mode as well as the GM Draft. The updates are of course free and able to be downloaded for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions. No word yet on if the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will be getting any additional updates or not.
Still this might not be enough. With all of the things missing from NHL 15 we can’t say that people are happy with the end result that EA Canada who is responsible for the development of the NHL franchise delivered for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Longtime fans of the franchise have complained about all of the stuff missing from this release and some have even indicated that NHL 14 on the older consoles is still a more full featured game.
