Sapphire has released a compact device that allows two monitors to be connected to a single output on almost any computer system. The big idea that users will get increased display area and enhanced productivity.
Sapphire Vid-2X is a compact stand-alone unit that allows two Full HD DVI monitors to be connected to a single Thunderbolt, DisplayPort or DualLink-DVI output of a laptop or desktop. It is a completely external solution, requiring no software or drivers to be loaded, and due to it being totally independent of hardware and operating system - it works with Windows, Linux, OS-X and most other Operating Systems.
Sapphire said the upgrade will hit the shops for $179. Vid-2X is an affordable upgrade and an indispensable tool for many applications making the users task faster. Working on a full 3840x1080 desktop suddenly users spend less time flipping through open files, programs and emails, digging for what they want.
We are not sure about this as most graphic cards have few problems with two screens, although it appears that Sapphire is targeting mobile use.
