Brings Crossfire enhancements

AMD has rolled out the new Catalyst 14.4 Release Candidate which brings support for AMD Radeon R9 295X2 graphics card, full OpenGL 4.4 support and a couple of Crossfire and AMD Mantle API fixes and enhancements.

Although mainly bringing support and enhancements for the recently released Radeon R9 295X2 dual-GPU flagship graphics card, the new Catalyst 14.4 RC also supports the rest of the Radeon Rx 200 series as well as all GPUs dating back to the HD 5000 series.

The full release notes start with support for the AMD Radeon R9 295X2 dual-GPU graphics card as well as full support for OpenGL 4.4 with a full list of extensions. The enhancements are mostly focused on Crossfire in titles like Crysis 3, Far Cry 3, Anno 2080, Titanfall and Metro: Last Light and it also brings some fixes for Eyefinity 3x1 mode with three 4K panels as well as an improvement for stuttering in certain applications with mid-Eyefinity resolutions and V-Sync.

The AMD Mantle API improvements are focused on Battlefield 4 and include a fix for preformance slowdown when performing a task switch (Alt+TAB) as well as a fix for fuzzy images when playing in rotated SLS resolution with an A10 Kaveri based system.

As always, the new Catalyst 14.4 Release Candidate can be found here.
