HP’s new Z27s high resolution monitor is about to start shipping on the old continent, and it offers a decent spec at a price.

The HP Z27s sports a 27-inch 3840x2160 IPS panel, with a static contrast rating of 1000:1 and dynamic contrast of 5000000:1. The grey-to-grey reaction time is 6ms and the brightness rating is a more or less standard 300cd/m2.

Designed with professional users in mind, the HP Z27s sports HDMI 1.4, HDMI 1.4 MHL, DisplayPort 1.2 and Mini DisplayPort inputs. The monitor also has four USB 3.0 ports, which may come in handy.

There’s a VESA mount at the back and the monitor is height-adjustable with pivot and swivel functions to boot. The warranty is three years and EU listings indicate it should retail somewhere in the €730-€850 range, but we do not have the official price yet.

This would make it somewhat pricier than comparable Dell Professional P2715Q and Acer Professional B276 series monitors, but like we said this is not the official price yet and it could end up quite a bit cheaper when it starts shipping. Retailer listings point to a shipping date in late February.
