Autodesk Pixlr hits Windows Store

by on17 February 2015

Absolutely free, absolutely wonderful

No, this is not a shameless plug for Autodesk, as the company hardly needs an introduction, especially among veterans who used Autodesk Animator and 3D Studio a quarter of a century ago.

Autodesk Pixlr is one of the best, if not the best, online photo editor and Fudzilla has been using it for years, as a Chrome app. Pixlr is a lightweight editor, packed with loads of nifty features. So why do graphics geeks like us use a toy like Pixlr? Because by the time we fire up Photoshop, we can already crop, resize, tweak the aspect ratio or canvas size, and save pics in our CMS using Pixlr.

It saves time, a lot of time.

Since it’s free it can be used anywhere, and now it can be used as a standalone app on Windows PCs and tablets. If you’re willing to take a look, you can grab it on the Windows Store, no pressure.

In addition to basic editing, which is what we use it for, Pixlr also offers loads of different effects, filters, overlays and so on. It’s a bit like Instagram for grownups – only better, much better.
