by on07 January 2020

Coming on January 21st at $279

As expected and rumored earlier, AMD has officially announced the new Radeon RX 5600 XT at its CES 2020 keynote, and this 7nm Navi based card with 2304 Stream Processors and 6GB of GDDR6 memory will be available with $279 SEP on January 21st.

AMD pits the Radeon RX 5600 XT against Nvidia's GTX 1660 Ti, and according to AMD's own slides, it beats it in at least three games at 1080p resolution, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, The Division 2, and Gears of War 5.

AMD was also keen to note that the RX 5600 XT does well in popular eSports titles like Apex Legends, Fortnite and World of Warcraft, delivering well above 120fps in those games.

The Radeon RX 5600 XT packs 2304 Stream Processors, and comes with 6GB of 12Gbps GDDR6 memory on a 192-bit memory interface, leaving it with 288GB/s of memory bandwidth. AMD did not reveal the base clock but did say that the RX 5600 XT hits 1375MHz for Game and Boosts up to 1560MHz.

There will be plenty of different cards from various AMD AIB partners, and Nvidia will certainly have to adjust the price of its GTX 1660 Ti, which is currently available for around the same price, $280 to $320.
