Nvidia to bring mobile RTX 2080 Super Max-Q to notebooks

Shows up in Geekbench with 3072 CUDA cores

It appears that Nvidia will launch mobile RTX 2080 Super Max-Q for notebooks quite soon, at least according to a recent listing in the Geekbench database.

Spotted by TUM_APISAK over on Twitter, the Geforce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q is said to pack 48 SMs for a total of 3072 CUDA cores, as well as 8GB of GDDR6 memory. According to earlier leaks, it is a 150W+ TDP part which works at 80W TGP in Max-Q design, which allows it to fit into slimmer notebooks.

The same Geekbench listing shows the Geforce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q paired up with unreleased Comet Lake-H CPU, the 8-core/16-thread Core i9-10980HK, which should launch this quarter, so it is safe to assume that Nvidia will launch its new RTX Super Max-Q graphics cards in the same timeframe.

The upcoming GDC 2020 event in March could be the perfect place to show off some of those RTX Super Mobile graphics cards, which are going to come in both Max-Q and non-Max-Q versions.
