In addition to proudly showing off the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, as well as giving the all-important price and availability details, Scott Herkelman, VP and GM of Graphics Business Unit at AMD, also briefly announced the AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3, aka AMD FSR 3.
Although the big part of the showcase was focused on current FSR 2 and what it means to the Radeon RX 7900 series in games like Forza Horizon 5 (coming soon), upcoming Assassin's Creed Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarok, and high-refresh gaming in some FPS games, Scott also announced a partnership with Ubisoft and its Snowdrop engine for ray tracing and FSR.
The big announcement, the AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3, was showcased during Unreal Engine 5 tech demo, showing an impressive boost in performance of up to 2x, compared to the FSR 2.
Unfortunately, we did not get a precise launch date other than "coming 2023".
AMD HYPER-RX, a one-click feature for more frames and lower latency
AMD's Frank Azor, Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions and Marketing at AMD, went on stage to talk about AMD Adrenalin Edition drivers and software, and all the current features, as well as the new AMD HYPR-RX, a new feature that is coming in the first half of 2023, and will bring a "one-click for faster frame rates and lower latency".
It is basically a feature that will allow users to simply tune the system without going into specific features like Super Resolution, Boost, Anti-lag, Chill, and others.
