Announced back at the CES 2024 show, AMD's Radeon RX 7600 XT is now officially available with $329 MSRP. AMD has also launched the new AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 24.1.1 driver and both reviews and AMD AIB partners versions are now out.

AMD went for a rather strange move with the Radeon RX 7600 XT SKU, leaving it with the same Navi 33 GPU as the previously available Radeon RX 7600 (non-XT), meaning it still has 32 Compute Units (CUs) with 2,048 Stream Processors and 32MB of 2nd gen Infinity Cache. On the other hand, AMD did raise the total board power to 190W, which means higher GPU clocks and requirements of two 8-pin PCIe connectors, as well as equip it with 16GB of 18Gbps GDDR6 memory, albeit on the same 128-bit memory interface.

AMD is still targeting 1080p and 1440p gaming but with such specifications, the Radeon RX 7600 XT ends up close to the Radeon RX 7600 (non-XT), and an additional 8GB of memory rarely makes a difference but does make it future-proof. Most performance improvements will come from those higher GPU clocks, making it around 10 percent faster compared to the Radeon RX 7600 (non-XT), and with a $29 higher MSRP, it does not sound like a bad deal at all. AMD's new Radeon RX 7600 XT does well against Nvidia's RTX 4060, but the RTX 4060 Ti is around 20 percent faster.

AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 24.1.1 WHQL driver comes with AMD Fluid Motion Frames Support

AMD has also released its latest AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 24.1.1 WHQL driver, adding support for the new Radeon RX 7600 XT, as well as support for Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth and TEKKEN 8 games, but more importantly, it brings AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) support to AMD Radeon 700M, RX 6000, and RX 7000 series graphics cards.

According to AMD, the AFMF can boost FPS up to 97 percent in any DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 game. According to AMD's own benchmarks, the AFMF gives 97 percent average increase in performance across select titles at 1080p resolution on the Radeon RX 7600 XT GPU, with FSR2 set at Quality Mode. At 1440p resolution and same settings, you get up to 103 percent average performance improvement.

The new driver also adds AMD Video Upscaling and additional video improvements, AMD Smart Technology Tab, AMD Assistant, and Harwdare Accelerated GPU scheduling for Radeon RX 7600 series GPUs on Windows 11 version 22H2 and newer. Most AMD AIB partners have launched their own Radeon RX 7600 XT versions, including Sapphire with RX 7600 XT Pulse, Powercolor with Hellhound and Fighter Edition cards, ASRock with Challenger and Steel Legend versions, and others.
