After years of whispers, Xiaomi finally announced its processor codenamed Pinecone and decided to call it the Surge S1. After Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi also goes for an in-house processor, but it is positioning itself it to the mainstream market. The first phone to get it is the Xiaomi 5c.
