384-bit memory bus never enabled

A year ago it was mentioned that AMD's Tonga XT GPU had a 384-bit memory bus but when the Radeon R9 380X it had a somewhat disappointing Tonga XT GPU with a 256-bit memory interface.

Packing the full Tonga/ Antigua GPU

The long awaited AMD Radeon R9 380X will launch on 15th November with a full Tonga/Antigua GPU, with 2048 Stream Processors, plus 4GB GDDR5 memory and a 256-bit memory interface.

With 256-bit memory interface

AMD's Radeon R9 380X will come in late October and will pack 4GB of GDDR5 memory with 256-bit memory interface.

Coming with fully enabled Tonga GPU

We already talked about a possible fully-enabled Tonga GPU back when Radeon R9 285 was launched, and now it appears that AMD has finally decided to launch such GPU which will be a part of Radeon R9 380X graphics card.

To go against Nvidia Geforce GTX 960

In addition to the Radeon R7 300 and the Grenada-based Radeon R9 390 series graphics cards, AMD has also announced the Radeon R9 380 which should hold the performance-segment of the market.

Going for under €180 in Europe

As you probably already know, AMD is preparing to launch its new Radeon Rx 300 graphics card series and has now silently cut the price of the Radeon R9 285 in order to clear stock, pushing it down under €180 in Europe.

Only Fiji is an all-new chip

While we are getting close to the launch of AMD's new Radeon 300-series lineup, a new report suggest that most of the upcoming Radeon 300 series will be based on older GCN 1.1 and GCN 1.2 architecture while Fiji GPU will actuallly be the only new chip.
